On September 1, 2017 at 8:00 pm, the Upperco Vol. Fire Co. Inc. Station "85" officially went in service. After much work and effort from members of Boring VFC and Arcadia VFC, the plans were made and the evening was set. Following a ceremony filled with fire department traditions such as The Fire Brigade Pipes & Drums, Baltimore County Fire Dept Honor Guard, dignitaries from Baltimore County, Carroll County and the State of Maryland, and representation from several surrounding fire companies, the Chief of the Baltimore County Fire Dept placed the station in service. This came following an emotional ceremony by Chief 42 and Chief 43 placing Boring VFC and Arcadia VFC officially out of service. The members of the newly formed Upperco VFC celebrated throughout the night proving that this newly formed brotherhood and sisterhood will last and prosper for a long time to come.
